Love Anime and Music? Ever want to put the two together and show the whole world what you like? Then the SMASH! 2012 AMV Competition is for you! Anime Music Videos (commonly known as AMVs) are ever increasing in popularity and can be found in almost every video sharing site out there on the internet. Anime fans, young and old, have shown their love for their favourite series through the way of making AMVs. To make an AMV is easy as pie! All you need is a video editor, plus the anime you would like to use, and your favourite music. Put them together through the use of awesome editing skills and ta-da! An AMV is born! There are 4 categories which you can enter in:

• Action - Fast paced, hardcore and epic action AMVs that will get adrenaline running.
• Comedy/Parody - From hilarious use of music to funny anime scene usage, these are AMVs that are made to make you laugh!
• Drama/Romance - Whether it is showing the serious or romantic side of things in anime, these are made to make the viewer feel moved.
• Upbeat/Dance - New category to SMASH! Whether it is for the dance music, the beats, or for the use of active anime scenes, Upbeat/Dance AMVs are made to keep you moving (especially your feet).

In addition, there are three awards you can win in:

• Judge’s Choice Award - The AMV chosen by the AMV Co-ordinator that deems to be his favourite.
• People’s Choice Award - The AMV chosen by the PEOPLE which they think is the best. Vote here!
• Best Technical Award - A new award, where the judges choose the best AMV which uses tremendous amount of editing skill correctly.

The finals will be held at the Art Room from 4pm. Entries are now closed, but you can still view the Rules and Submission guidelines. Stay tuned for the People's Choice Award voting!
