Workshop Information

Back due to popular demand (and because it’s super fun), SMASH! will be running a Gundam Workshop again with the help of our good friends at HobbyCo and Bandai.

If you have never built a Gundam model and have always wanted to try then the friendly volunteers and Hobbyco staff at the workshop will teach you the basics in Gundam modelling and will walk you through as you build your very first Gundam Kit!

What is Gundam and why build plastic kits?

Gundam was a mecha series started by Sunrise studios in 1979. Since then it has spawned numerous sequels including the popular Gundam Wing, Gundam SEED and Gundam 00. The reason Gundam kits are so popular is because of the sheer amount of engineering spent on making each kit which makes them fun to build, fun to customise and look really cool. There are heaps of other kits out there including Evangelion, Armored Core, Zoids, Code Geass and Macross. So join the workshop and dive into the gunpla/plamo hobby now!

Cost

The Workshop is free and every person who attends the workshop will get a kit and be taught how to make their own Gundam! The only condition is that you need to build it before you can take it out of the room. The workshops will run every 30 minutes so be sure to visit the Gundam workshop for your free kit!
