Eminence Musicians

Eminence is considered one of the finest global musical collectives, playing pieces ranging from film, animation and video games. Founded in 2003, Eminence has always been dedicated to showcasing new, dynamic and refined classical music. This year, Eminence is once again showcasing its wide, vibrant and unique talent closer to home in Sydney as part of a concert with SMASH!.

Hiroaki Yura

A renowned violin virtuoso as well as the founder and artistic director of Eminence, Hiroaki Yura has gained his popularity and prowess from his extensive experience performing solo as well as with world-class and distinguished musicians and orchestras from around the globe. Having won countless local and international competitions, he has also made his mark in the music industry by playing for a number of important figures including Prime Minister Junichi Koizumi and other ambassadors and consulate generals all over the world. Diablo 3 and Soul Calibur 4 is counted amongst his finest and most well-known work.

Joshua Hill

Now known as Eminence’s percussionist, Joshua Hill has had veteran experience in performing with a number of famous ensembles and orchestras (including Sydney Symphony Orchestra) and even in the NSW Police Band and Australian Air Force Air Command Band. Having completed his tertiary musical education at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, he now also takes part in recordings for various games, feature films and anime.

Jem Harding

Jem Harding is a distinguished pianist who has won a number of various awards in musical competitions and works as an accompanist for various ensembles and opera companies as well as individual solo singers. He has traveled extensively throughout Australia and the globe on a musical basis, doing performing and recording work. As well as being Eminence’s pianist, he is also currently employed at St. Andrew’s Cathedral School in Sydney as a full-time accompanist.

Roger Lock

A classical guitarist who has earned his reputation through his works as a freelance producer, arranger, composer, songwriter and as a recording artist, Roger Lock has an impressive list of musical experience to his name. As well as being able to play 8 different instruments, he has also won or placed in various eisteddfods and competitions, and has worked as a guitar teacher and musical lecturer in a number of academies and universities locally as well as abroad. He has recorded for numerous film and game soundtracks and is currently an arranger and performer for Eminence.
