Two popular competitions are returning to SMASH! once again this year and are open for entry!

The AMV competition pits talented video editors against each other, splicing anime footage and music together to either create a comedic or dramatic effect, or simply showcase the show or favourite characters. Deadline for entry is July 25th. Information on how to enter is available on the AMV Competition page.

The Fanfiction competition is also back again, giving creative writers the opportunity to explore their favourite characters’ minds, or just drop them into strange plots or settings. Deadline for entry is midnight on July 11th. Further information can be found here.

Finally, the current list of talented artists showcasing their art at SMASH! this year is available on the website right here. Check out their websites and let them know the sort of items you might like to purchase!

Not to be out done by our previous Art Competition releases, we also have the Dollfie Photography competition to tickle the fancy of all you BJD owners! This year our event is themed, and entries can be submitted digitally. That’s right! SMASH! will take care of the printing, so you can focus on snapping some beautiful pics.

You may have noticed it already, but here’s a friendly reminder that the SMASH! 2009 Artist Circle is open for applications!

Artist Circle space is always high in demand, so make sure you send in your application early to secure your spot. With our expansion to a weekend of events, this year we are also offering both weekend and single day packages! Peruse our range of Artist Circle packs to find the right one for you. Retaining its open-plan layout, our Artist Circle has also moved to the new and spacious location of the 2007 & 2008 Art Room. Some of you may have noted the tight squeeze in the upstairs gallery last year, so we hope this new location lets you all breathe easy.
