Convention Info > Code Of Conduct
For the general safety of everyone at the convention, we require all attendees to follow the general public and artist circle code of conduct. Attendees will also be required to follow the cosplay code of conduct if they are cosplaying. Please note that failure to comply can result in ejection from the convention.

- Bring any firearms, live blades, explosives, open flames or other dangerous objects in to the convention.

- Bring bicycles, skateboards, scooters, rollerblades or any other types of vehicles into the convention.
- Block entrances, sit down in hallways or obstruct the flow of people through the convention area. Please be mindful of loitering in areas of high traffic.
- Take photos of other cosplayers without their consent. It is common courtesy to ask nicely before photographing other convention attendees.

By attending a SMASH! event, you agree to possibly being filmed, and that resulting footage may be used in future promotional activities related to SMASH!.
- Please DO NOT take photos of other people's artwork without their consent.
- Avoid crowding or loitering around individual tables for too long; please be mindful of other customers and attendees and give them a chance to look at the artworks.
- Please be respectful of artists and their merchandise and equipment.
SMASH! would appreciate attendees not turning up naked or nearly naked. We have protective goggles, but they do nothing. NO dangerous weapons. These can include:
- Bladed or edged weapons, or live steel of any kind such as knives, swords, axes, martial arts equipment, etc.
- Liquid dispensing weapons. If you need to use hairspray or aerosol cans please do so outside, as some patrons may be allergic to or irritated by the contents.
- Incendiaries or anything that produces a live flame, explosion or spark.
- Anything that shoots a projectile (this includes realistic and plastic guns).
- Long props such as poles or pointed items which might accidentally cause injury. Props that are over one metre in length may still be brought to the convention and used during the Cosplay Competition, but cannot be carried during the normal course of the convention. Instead, they will be kept in the cloakroom and returned to you when you require them.
