Renowned for his strength and for his violent adventures throughout the Galaxy of Ota Kuu, Gyaran is a champion of his world. Trained in Kamiwaza (“God Technique”, a powerful martial art native to Smash) he is capable of superhuman feats of strength, endurance and athleticism.

Reasoning that the prince and princess must have a good reason for not returning home and that they are possibly in distress, the King of Cosmos has entrusted his most powerful soldier the task of “rescuing” the twins from their situation (whatever that may be), and bringing them both back to their home world.

Though Gyaran is of an age with the twin royals he has guarded them since they were children. He is friends with them, though he shares a somewhat antagonistic relationship with Cyrus due to his own stupidity and single-minded obsession with training, fighting and winning. Skadi on the other hand understands that though he is clumsy with relationships and embarrassingly destructive, he has a good heart and is interested in using his strength for good causes. So single-minded is Gyaran that he doesn’t even understand his own feelings for Skadi, which are more than just platonic.

Unfortunately Gyaran is not famous for his intelligence. He thinks of nothing but the next challenge for his fighting skills. It is for this reason that he is feared rather than loved by the populace – at any time he may explode into action and cause terrible collateral damage in his quest to become the greatest warrior in the universe. He has no intention of listening to or understanding the twins and their own quest, because he has his orders… and he intends to see them through no matter what the consequences are to Earth or its denizens.

Ingu Zafran

Ingu Zafran is a recent graduate of the College of Intergalactic Arts (the CIA) Music Degree (with a double major in Earth Rock and Smash Idol-Pop). She is an enthusiastic and energetic young woman with ambitions of one day becoming an idol superstar in Ota Kuu. Unfortunately, the music industry in her home galaxy is highly competitive and high grade, making her chances of achieving her dream close to nil.

After graduation, no matter how hard she tried she couldn’t find employment in her field, and so she lived for a year on packets of space ramen and the mushrooms that grew out of her dirty laundry basket.

With heavy heart and teary eyes she was applying for a passport to pursue her dream in another galaxy, when a fateful bureaucratic mix-up saw her processed as a Rank A Intergalactic Ambassador for the planet Smash. She was instantly given a mission of paramount importance to the security of the planet. The orders were passed down direct from the King of Cosmos: track down the missing royal twins, utilize diplomacy to free them from incarceration and/or hostile natives, and bring them home.

Ingu was torn. Her conscience told her that it would be dishonest to pose as a Rank A Ambassador for Smash. On the other hand, her conscience comprised some 5% of her being, and the rest of her virtually screamed to be taken on a wild adventure to the farther reaches of the universe, to such an exotic location as Earth. She would finally get to see real Earth Rock, and round the experience off by tracking down the lost Prince and Princess, saving them and returning home a hero. “What better diplomat than an idol (Aspiring Idol),” she reasoned to herself. “How hard can this be? Music speaks to people. So does this “diplomacy”. Therefore, they must be the same thing!”

Satisfied and excited, she signed the relevant papers and was on her way to adventure! What could go wrong?

Well, there were two winners. The committee was literally split in two. Then finally a tiny voice in the corner said, "Why not have two winners?" And thus was decided.

The Nannytron 9927 won us over because we thought she was the perfect character to come looking for the twins. She's known them since they were bubs! She'd track them down blindfolded with her hands tied behind her back. The King of Cosmos would agree.

Whilst O.T.A.K.U just won hands down with the awesomeness of the idea. What better to help Nene find these kids than a multi-purpose tracking (AND KARAOKE 8D) device!

(Yes, someone's also spotted that Nene's bag says "OTAKU" on it. Pure co-incidence? I think it might be HITSUZEN.)

Now, prizes will be awarded on the day at the awards ceremony. The two winning entries will also appear in our program book.

Also, we have made an exception with this competition. Since the winners are announced before the convention date, they are allowed to also win ONE other competition besides this one.

Normally with our competitions, no matter how many comps you enter and no matter how many times you enter, you can only win one. We have made this exception because we're sure that some of you guys have worked your butts off making entries for the other competitions. If you won this one, you would feel bummed about submitting your entry and knowing it was futile 3 days before. DX
