SMASH! - This Weekend

There's very little time left until SMASH! now! While you're gearing up your singing voices and sewing those costumes together take a moment to look at our schedule and figure out your plans for the day!

Guest Events - Hidenobu Kiuchi

SMASH! is honoured to host Hidenobu Kiuchi as our guest this year and he will be taking part in a number of activities that you can enjoy!

A Screening of a series featuring Kiuchi-san will be screened on the Main Stage at midday.

Kiuchi-san will take part in an Interview and a Voice Acting Panel. Later he will perform in an After-Recording where he will dub live to roles he has been featured in! This will be on the Main Stage at 12:30.

At 1:30 at the Mini Stage, Kiuchi-san will be holding an Autograph Session. Autographs will be limited to one item per person and will be screened and not permitted if deemed inappropriate.

Mini-Games and a casual Q & A sessions will be held with Kiuchi-san at the Mini Stage at 6pm.

NOTE: At Kiuchi's request, there will be NO filming, recording or flash photography during ANY of his events. Please respect his wishes and refrain from doing so. If you are caught doing so, you will be escorted out of the venue for the duration of his event. If you distribute any video and/or audio recordings from this event (e.g. put it on Youtube or any share sites) you may be held liable for any legal damages that you cause.

Charity Artbook Auction

Over the course of many months, a little book has been on a long journey. From artist to artist it has traveled, its pages filling up with a multitude of wondrous artworks. Soon, it will return once more for the final leg of its journey. Dig out your change, break open those piggy banks, buy that anime box-set another day! This is your chance to own a truly one of a kind artbook, while also supporting a worthy cause.

The SMASH! Travelling Artbook Charity Auction is an event not to be missed! All proceeds of this event will go to the Fred Hollows foundation. The book will be auctioned on the Main Stage during SMASH!

Competitions

For your chance to win Wacom Intuos and Wacom Bamboo tablets, join our Digital, Traditional and Comic competition. Remember, you need to bring your entries to SMASH! and submit it on the day. Click here for entry details.

To reserve your place in the Madman Cosplay Competition you can pre-register here, with entries being accepted until midnight on July 29th. All entries must include a reference image of the character, including entries brought on the day. Any skits should be brought on a CD or USB, and will be screened on the day.

Think you know a lot about anime? Come and show your wealth of anime knowledge and otaku prowess and you can win some cool prizes at the Tamarket Trivia Competition held at the Mini Stage at 4:30pm.

To guarantee yourself a place in our Karaoke Competition and ensure you get the songs you want, please drop by our competition thread and send in your details to our Karaoke organiser. Preliminaries will be held between 1:00pm and 3:30pm in the Karaoke room in the Squarehouse. Finals will be held on the Main Stage at 5:00pm.

Video Games

For the avid gamers, we have a dedicated gaming room that is open for the whole duration of the convention!

Play with your friends or try to take down your opponents in a game tournament and be crowned the champion! Whatever it is, you're bound to have lots of fun.

There are competitions for Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, DDR and Stepmania!
